I wrote my first computer program at age 17 and I have never looked back since. My only regret is that I didn't start early enough.
The most exciting human advances are happening when two or more disciplines come together, and Computer Science happens to be at the heart of these collaborations. I am excited to build tools and software that provide meaning to our interactions. Whether it involves predicting tobacco prices, automatically regulating irrigation pumps, or helping businesses decide on the least risky but most profitable investment, my goal is to design computer systems that add value to things that humans care about!
I graduated from St Andrew's Internatioanl High School in September, 2006 Years after my IGCSEs. While in High School, one of the best decisions I made was to drop Biology for Drama, as it opened up many important doors for me in my professional career.
From High School, I spend the next 4 years at the University of Malawi's Polytechnic studying Information Technology. I graduated with a BSc in October 2011, after thoroughly enjoying all my programming classes bar one: Java!
After Spening about 2 years at NBS, I was awarded a Scholarship to study in Japan where I spent 2.5 very interesting years. I worked with Prof Yamamoto to research on the Development of a Speech Synthesis System for Chichewa Language. In March, 2017, I graduated before returning to the Warm Heart of Africa.
Last September, I joined Baobab Health Trust as a Software Architect with the mission of serving Malawi's HealthCare through Health Information Systems. I work on a Bill & Melinda Gates sponsored project called Kuunika Data For Action where among other things, I lead the technology efforts to streamline data sharing and interopability throughout the National HealthCare Systems.
